Dr. Galerkin is a thoughtful and open psychiatrist who provides a safe environment to discuss your needs and challenges. He is dedicated to helping patients achieve mental wellbeing and gives each patient the time and attention they deserve. He has over 30 years of experience in psychiatry and effectively treats adult patients with medication regimens while providing guidance on psychological and social interventions. He will address both physical and emotional factors that impact patient wellness.

Education & Experience
Dr. Galerkin’s passion for psychiatry began at the University of California, Berkeley, where he conducted molecular biology research to explore the genetic coding behind embryonic brain development. This innovative field piqued his interest in the intricate connection between brain complexity and the human experience. To this day, he integrates biological, psychological, and social factors to create comprehensive treatment plans for his patients.
Dr. Galerkin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, followed by a medical degree from the University of Oklahoma. He then completed his internship and psychiatry residency at the University of California, Davis Medical Center.
During his residency, Dr. Galerkin served as the on-call physician for Sacramento County Jail Psychiatric Services, providing psychiatric care for patients with complex mental illnesses. In 1992, he established Premier Psychiatric Services in Roseville, California, where he specialized in medication management, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and psychodynamic psychotherapy. His dedication to patient care earned him The Most Compassionate Doctor Award, an honor he continued to receive through patient nominations year after year.
Dr. Galerkin maintains his California medical license and continues to treat patients in Northern California. He has also established a new private psychiatry practice in Henderson, Nevada, serving patients in Henderson, Las Vegas, and across Clark County. Offering both in-person and virtual appointments, Dr. Galerkin is committed to providing accessible, high-quality psychiatric care.
